(Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice)
So I have this RPG (I'm most terribly neglecting) where Lestat, Louis, Nicolas and Armand go to a masquerade-ball in baroque Paris... and they dress up as the Horsemen of the Apocalypse (well, actually we decided on four appearances of the devil, but the idea stayed...) so we decided to cosplay our characters, dressed up as the Horsemen.
Lestat is Conquest, Louis is War, Nicolas is Death and Armand is Famine. Because I can't really think of a cool design fitting "Famine" I decided to skip a little towards the misinterpretation and go with "Pestilence" instead.
Since Armand has a Venetian background I thought that it would be fitting to take some elements from the famous “dottore della peste” with the beak-mask. My mask will resemble the skull of a bird. The cloak will be black (and I’m making the front a bit longer than the design shows).
Underneath he wears a sort of short soutane (leaning more towards a renaissance doublet) with a lot of black buttons (yes, my priest-kink is showing) and a red cincture. He wears a rosary wrapped around one of his wrists.
I think I will sew a white shirt but I’m not too sure about that… maybe a black one will fit the costume better.
I am also thinking of painting the hands black as if some sort of disease was spreading through his veins (and if I’m skilled enough I will ad a few plague-spots on his arms as well.
